Page title: Sizing and measurements
Body:
We make from XS to 3XL, and every piece is cut to your measurements rather than to a size chart. There is no separate plus range, because there does not need to be. Your size is the one we make.
You do not have to get this right on your own. We take your measurements with you on WhatsApp after you order, one at a time. This page is here if you would rather come prepared, or if you want to check something before you buy.
Before you start
Wear close-fitting clothing, or just your underwear. Wear the bra you plan to wear on the day, because it changes your bust measurement more than most people expect.
Use a soft tape measure, not a builder's tape. Stand normally, breathe normally, and do not hold your stomach in. Ask someone to help if you can. Measuring your own back is where most mistakes happen.
Keep the tape snug but flat against your body. You should be able to slide one finger underneath it.
The measurements we ask for
Bust. Around the fullest part of your chest, with your arms down. Keep the tape level all the way around, including across your back.
Waist. Around your natural waist, which is the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above your navel. This is not where your jeans sit. Bend to one side and the crease that forms is your natural waist.
Hip. Around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, usually about 20cm below your waist. Keep your feet together.
Shoulder to shoulder. Across your upper back, from the bony point of one shoulder to the other.
Sleeve length. From the shoulder point, down the outside of a slightly bent arm, to the wrist.
Length. From the top of your shoulder, straight down the front, to where you want the hem to sit. Wear the shoes you plan to wear when you measure this one.
Your height, without shoes.
For trousers and jumpsuits we also ask for your inside leg, measured from the crotch to the ankle bone.
Five mistakes to avoid
Measuring over a jumper or thick dress. It adds centimetres that are not yours.
Pulling the tape tight. A snug tape gives a garment that fits. A tight tape gives one that does not close.
Using your usual shop size instead of measuring. Retail sizing varies between brands and is the reason you are here.
Measuring your waist where your trousers sit. That is your hip, not your waist.
Letting the tape drop at the back. It has to stay level the whole way around, which is why a second pair of hands helps.
If you are above 3XL
Message us on +27 83 735 8833 and we will take it from there. We would rather make it than turn you away.
If you are between sizes
Order the size closest to you and let us do the rest. That is the entire point of made-to-measure.
